Synopsis
Art from the Garden is a beautifully photographed creative guide featuring 25 botanical-inspired art projects made using natural materials, many of them sourced directly from your own garden. From pressed flowers and cyanotypes to wrapped stones and frozen botanicals, the book encourages readers to bring nature into their homes through artistic and hands-on creations.

My Thoughts

Art from the Garden is a beautifully presented and inspiring creative guide that invites readers to see nature as an artistic resource.

The photography throughout the book is absolutely stunning, and the projects are clearly designed to be visually impactful, very aesthetic and perfect for anyone who enjoys botanical crafts with a more modern feel.

Some of my favorite projects included the wrapped rocks, which apparently are a thing I somehow completely missed until now ^^, the air-dry clay pieces (yes, I already bought clay and now I’m outside looking for leaves and tiny branches), the botanical wall tiles, the string orb sleeve, and especially the cyanotypes, both silk and stone versions.

These projects stood out the most to me because they felt creative, achievable and genuinely fun to try at home.

For the most part, the instructions were clear and approachable, making the book accessible even for people who may not consider themselves particularly crafty. However, there were a few areas where I wished for a bit more technical guidance.

For example, the cyanotype sections could have benefited from more detail about paper choices, recommendations, or brand differences. I had a similar feeling with the bisque-fired tiles, where additional explanation might help readers who are completely new to that type of craft.

Still, overall, this book works wonderfully as both inspiration and creative motivation.

It encourages slowing down, experimenting and engaging with nature in a more artistic and mindful way. Even if not every project felt deeply instructional, the book absolutely succeeds at sparking creativity and offering a wide range of elegant botanical ideas.

Final Thoughts

Overall, this was such a lovely and inspiring read.

If you enjoy nature-inspired crafts, aesthetic DIY projects, or simply flipping through beautifully designed creative books for inspiration, this one is definitely worth checking out.
