First and Forever - Lynn Painter

 Title: First and Forever

Author: Lynn Painter
Genre: Romance, Sports Romance, Contemporary Romance
Format: eARC
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4★)

Synopsis
Duffy Distefano’s love for her favorite football team lands her in the middle of an internet disaster after a misunderstanding involving the team mascot goes viral. Suddenly, she finds herself reluctantly pulled into a PR stunt alongside Connor Cunningham, the team’s star tight end.

What starts as damage control quickly turns into something much more complicated as their fake relationship begins to feel a little too real.

My Thoughts

This was such a fun and bingeable read.

I really liked both main characters. Duffy and Connor had a very entertaining dynamic, and their banter honestly reminded me a bit of me and my husband. We still go back and forth like that even after 12 years, so their interactions felt especially fun and natural to me.

They had great chemistry and a lot of genuinely entertaining moments together. This is one of those books that’s incredibly easy to get into and hard to put down once you start.

The sports aspect is definitely there, but more in the background. We get practices, games, family watch parties, and stadium moments, but nothing overly technical or heavily focused on football itself. Personally, I thought it worked well for the story, but if you’re looking for a very sports-heavy romance, this probably isn’t that.

Plot-wise, I do think things could have been a bit more developed or layered at times, but at the same time, this worked perfectly as a light and fast-paced romance.

It also has a slightly younger, more new adult feel to it, which made it a really easy and enjoyable read.

And honestly? I flew through it in one night.

Final Thoughts

Overall, this was a cute, easy, and very bingeable romance with fun chemistry and entertaining banter.

If you’re looking for something light, fast-paced, and easy to get lost in for a few hours, this is definitely worth picking up.
